ABOUT

The Uptown Planter Project is a volunteer driven initiative sponsored by Wild Rose Landscape Design, Gateway Engineers and the Mt. Lebanon Partnership (a community development non-profit corporation). With the sponsorship of twenty two community members, the uptown planters each showcase their unique design bringing color and vibrancy to the uptown business district. The project kicks off in May and wraps up late fall with a community planting day and clean up. Throughout the growing season, the boxes are maintained by the sponsors. The identity of each sponsor can be found on a small plaque located on the front of each box.

NEW FOR 2019!

This year we have some exciting new changes. Farm to Table will be sponsoring a box and growing an edible garden. Playtown Square will be creating a small children’s garden right outside their storefront. And look for the second installment of the Haiku pop up initiative in the fall.

STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Uptown Planters have a full sponsorship this year but there are still many ways to help! The Girl Scouts will be doing a clean up day on May 5th from 1-3. Volunteers are welcome to join us! We can also always use help distributing mulch and compost on our Spring Planting day, May 18th. High schooler looking to meet their required community service hours are welcome! Please contact Annie Skiba at skiba@live.com for more information.
